Herbert St Barbe Holland was an Anglican bishop in the 20th century.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=National Archives )
He was born on 15 October 1882,〔Who was Who 1987–1990: London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 the youngest of three sons of Canon William Lyall Holland of Cornhill-on-Tweed. He was educated at Durham School and University College, Oxford and ordained in 1908.〔”The Clergy List” London, Kelly’s, 1913〕
Following a curacy at Jesmond Parish Church〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Church website (1) )〕 he became Vicar of St Luke’s, Newcastle upon Tyne.〔(Church Web Site (2) )〕 From 1917 until 1924 he was Secretary of the Church Missionary Society and then Rural Dean of Coventry.
